My Tulip Poplar as it stands on September 8th 2005 |

|
This was our first holiday camping trip in the new camper and we decided to stay at a Jellystone Park in Gatlinburg. By far this was one of the nicest campgrounds that we have been to. The park was clean and lush with trees. We were camped creek side with our bunk right over the creek where you could hear the water running by as you slept. The owners of this campground had plenty of activities for all to do with movies in the theatre at night and of course outdoor activities such mini golf etc. |
|
Area attractions included Outlet mall shopping and carnival style rides. You could also visit Dollywood or take in one of a number of dinner shows. We did not have time on this trip for Dollywood or the shows but definitely did the shopping. On Easter Sunday we enjoyed the church services at the campground as well as Matthew getting in on an Easter Egg hunt. All in all this was a great weekend and we will plan to do this again. And by the way they did have wireless Internet too. |

month and one seedling didn’t make it. But my other one did survive that year and continued to grow. By the Spring of 2004 my tree was about 9 feet tall, and this year the tree really had growth spurt as it was about 15 feet by the end of 2004. The leaves on this tree are |

Ok, this is not really an event but it is one of those little things that I take great pride in. In May of 2000 I planted two Tulip Poplar seedlings that were about six inches tall. I planted one on each side of my driveway. Well June 2000 was a dry |

large and yes they look somewhat like a tulip, hence it’s name. So my tree as pictured to the left as of September 8th 2005 stands at 21 feet tall from the ground to the highest tree tip. And the base of the trunk is about 9 inches in diameter. Just thought you should know. |

assured mistakes are made in almost each trip with most of them being very small like forgetting to bring the dog chain or on one occasion leaving the dog chain at the campground. Unfortunately for us the chain was left at a campground in Kentucky Other things we have learned that have turned out to be important is to place your glassware in drawers and not in the overhead cabinets. We found this out the hard way as we were traveling to a |

campground in Kentucky which has some pretty rough roads. Once we arrived at the campground and opened the door to the camper we found that most of our glass plates had fallen out of the cabinet and shattered on the floor. Fortunately the camper is not huge so cleanup was not to bad. Why glass? Because it works best in the microwave of course. And it holds up well when cutting that steak. |

When we bought our camper in September 2004, we planned on taking as many weekend trips as possible to get to know our camper and learn the tips and tricks of the RV life. We spend most of the camping trips at nearby State parks as this provides for a short travel time and accessibility to our home if we forget some crucial items. Rest |
